Dead Water Trailer

Above is the trailer for the short film I recently finished with my friends Jesse Allen and Andy Gilchrist. Check it out.

Dead Water is a follow up to Sea Pig, the short we did a few years ago.

The film premieres this Friday at 9 at the 2015 Kansas City Film Festival. If you live in the area, get your butt over there and watch our film (and whatever the hell else is showing). If not, keep your eyes tuned to this site. I’ll be posting it once festival season is over.

Shining’s “I Won’t Forget”

I think I like this band. I sent this video to Deegan and it blew his mind that there would be saxophone in metal and I was all, “Holy shit, Deegan, have you not heard Ihsahn’s solo records?!” And HE was all, “Dude, I don’t find a lot of weird metal unless it comes from you.” And I’m all, “http://open.spotify.com/album/78cdLSogu9HIZyD540GTZC” And we had a good laugh.

But, as it turns out with a little digging, it’s the same saxophone! Same dude! No wonder they’re both awesome.

So, yeah, in conclusion, I like this band. Check it out. Also, there are naked boobs in the video, so if you work in a place where people care about that, wait until you’re home.

Turntablerocker’s “Alles Auf Die 303”

I love this a lot. At first you’re all, “Man, this is a totally normal music video of a panda chilling out in his hotel room. He calls the front desk. What’s weird about this?” And then BOOM—pole dancing chicks emerge from the ceiling. And then it gets better. Watch the whole thing! Enjoy it! It is NOT work safe for you people with serious jobs, but I won’t spoil why not. Needless to say, you’ll like it and if you don’t you’re wrong.

Huoratron’s “Corporate Occult”

This is Huoratron’s other single. The video for this thing is highly work unsafe, so go ahead and heed the warning at the beginning.

I don’t have anything terrible smart to say about this except that it is an awesome track with an equally awesome, terrifying video. Get pumped for the release of Huoratron’s Cryptocracy in April. Doesn’t that sound like a super metal name? Maybe it’s just how close it sounds to Cryptopsy, but Cryptocracy could easily be the title of some old school death metal record and 12 year old Joe would have been all, “Damn, that is fucking metal, dude.”

Zombie Ass trailer

I’ve always maintained that Japan produces the highest, most beautiful forms of art and the lowest, most vile. Zombie Ass is firmly in the second camp. It looks to me like it might be the stupidest, most offensive movie ever produced and I am not sure if that makes me want to see it or if it makes me want to run screaming away from it as quickly as I can. Hmmm. We are presented with many obstacles in life. I just hope they say “danger” throughout the film as much as they do throughout the trailer. That’s the best part.

DANGER. DANGER.

Duck Sauce’s “Big Bad Wolf”

You’ll remember Duck Sauce from last year’s ridiculously huge hit “Barbara Streisand”. Well, the American/Canadian DJ duo of Armand Van Helden and A-Trak are back with this absurd NSFW video for their new track “Big Bad Wolf”. Is it as catchy as “Barbara Streisand”? I’m not sure. Do I like it? I do. It’s definitely a less funky track, more house, darker. I will have to listen on good speakers and not the shitty headphones I have on right now.

Jury’s out.

Devendra Banhart’s “Foolin'”

I’m just going to leave this here and let you do with it what you will. Possibly not safe for work if you work in a boring place.

Thanks, Nina!!!

Battles’ “Ice Cream”

So, like, uh, I guess people are all into this Battles group and stuff. They’re all right, I suppose. I dig the video, though. It’s right along the same lines as the videos for El Guincho’s “Bombay” and Scissor Sisters’ “Invisible Light”. Also, unsurprisingly, it was made by the same folks.

NSFW for those of you whose places of work don’t tolerate naked women eating ice cream in the bath tub. I feel sorry for you. Get better jobs.
