Here is Röyksopp’s first official video clip from their forthcoming album Senior. Decidedly darker than the over-the-top bubblegum robot pop of Junior, the sonic palette of Senior, their fourth record, seems to have more connection with their first album, Melody A.M.. I’ve been digging it a lot. It’s a worthwhile if different follow up to Junior.

Enjoy the video and check out the record when it drops on 9/14 in the US.

This spectacularly weird 10 minute video featuring the members of Röyksopp as a sleeping bum and an old man living with a Barbie-obsessed man and his wife boils down to an excellently executed announcement for their new record Senior which comes out in September. Check it. This rules.

Remember when we met Robyn, Sweden’s most famous popstar? Well, here she is again singing on Röyksopp’s new single “The Girl & The Robot” from their most recent album Junior. This is the finest Girl/Robot love song I’ve heard in a while, at least since… well, I don’t know the last time I heard a Girl/Robot love song. I was thinking of Yoshimi Battles The Pink Robots by The Flaming Lips, but there’s nothing like that on there.

Anyway, this video is super rad and the song is great, even if it’s not my favorite from this record (that’s a solid split between the two Karin Dreijer Andersson tracks, “This Must Be It” and “Tricky Tricky”).

Enjoy!
