This is a common mistake that men make (and it is well captured in this story); they really truly believe they don't need a phone and they can forget their phone, or not go back to retrieve their phone, based on the notion that the phone doesn't ring when they WANT it to ring. Very self-loathing story, but then again, I have been in a very self-loathing mood lately, so I appreciate it.
