Behemoth's "Ov Fire And The Void"

by The Wizard on Sep.19, 2009, under Music, Music Videos

Oh, Nergal! You're so cute with your insistence on using a V instead of an F in words where the F makes the V sound! I just want to pinch your Polish, Satan-worshipping cheeks! Adorable! Oh, by the way, did you notice that this might be one of the most metal videos ever made? Oh you did? Good good. Because I'm pretty sure that this is the second most metal video I have seen in a long time, though this Behemoth video is more metal in the "I worship Satan and ascribe to demonic imagery" kind of way where the link is more metal in the "Holy fuck did you see that gnarly horror movie where the dude killed everyone and bathed in their blood" kind of way. So I guess they're tied.

By the way, there's a bunch of super evil naked crap in the video, so, like, be careful or something. Or get a more fun job. Love you!

Yes, that is one sexy suicide.

Even sexier is Doda Elektroda, the Polish pop queen whom Nergal is currently dating. I find it reassuring that deathmetalheads can still land incredibly hot babes in an age where flimsy indie irony and general cheerfulness seem to have become requirements in the eyes of eligible females.

Thank you Nergal for reminding us that anger, depression and misanthropy can still reel 'em in. (I guess it also helps that you are a rockstar)

On a side note, I must say that I am not crazy about the direction Behemoth have taken in recent years. Their crowning masterpiece remains Thelema.6, a total riff-fest with a sufficiently blackened feel (which is just not there as much these days). That album freaking melted my brain when I first heard it, and I still get a tingly feeling all deep down inside when I hear that opening sound sample: "We would like to see most of the human race killed off because it is unworthy... it is unworthy of the gift of life" DAUDAU dudududu DAUDAU DUUDUU DAUDAU
